Description

Bicol Region, the southeastern peninsula of Luzon is the largest island of the Philippines. It is composed of six provinces namely Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate and Sorsogon. Legazpi City, the capital of Albay Province and of Bicol Region, is named after General Legaspi, a Spaniard who led an army in the conquest of part of the Philippines. There was a recent change from Legaspi to Legazpi as part of the effort to phoneticize Pilipino spellings, though many people still use the old spelling.
The north of Legazpi, Mayon Volcano and the east of Naga, Mount Isarog are the two principal mountains and natural tourist attractions of the Bicol Region. Mayon Volcano is still somewhat active, emitting smoke and steam all the time, sometimes causing earthquakes and putting out some lava. It is reputed to be the most perfect cone of any volcano. Mount Isarog is inhabited by the Isarog Agta, a tribal group of pre-Austronesian origin, related to the Papuan and Melanesian peoples to the south of the Philippines.
Situated on Taysan Hill overlooking the alluring and cordial cityscape, The Oriental Legazpi is the latest hotel to open in Legazpi City, Albay. Refreshing the landscape of Bicol and putting on a new slant in hospitality and accommodations, The Oriental Legazpi beckons you to a world of unparalleled bliss, serenity and contentment.
Amidst a backdrop of the majestic Mayon Volcano and the blue waters of the Gulf of Albay, The Oriental is a haven of endless felicity and leisure. Exquisitely styled in classic ivory tones, The Oriental will be the finest hotel in the Bicol region and the first all-season resort for leisure and business travellers. The Oriental Legazpi is a legend reborn and a legacy revisited.
