Description

History of a KISS. Mitchelle Moreno’s passion and first love is baking and cake decorating. She learned the rudiments of baking when she was in second year high school, trying different recipes of cookies, bars and cakes from their ovenette at home.

In 2003, baking and ramp modeling (Mitch is also a commercial model) allowed her to buy a secondhand La Germania oven. The old ovennette simply could not accommodate the growing demand for her cakes every Christmas. Thus, Mitchelle’s Sweet Kiss was born.

Hard work and fine artistry indeed pays but there’s something more; because behind this is a group of women striving not only to create wonderful pastries for their clients but to help each other as well. Starting with only one, Mitchelle has now expanded to five assistants. Coincidentally, these women are widows and single mothers working for Mitchelle’s Sweet Kiss in order to be able to support and give their families better lives. Mitchelle believes in hiring people that are new in the field, but have the interest and serious willingness to learn. She believes that the necessary skills can be acquired later on.

The cakes that this young woman built now supplies leading bistros, cafes, fine dining restaurants and corporate events. Moreover, one cake from Mitchelle’s Sweet Kiss always goes a long way—from a highlight of many special occasions and a celebration of the lives of the women behind the cakes.
